Snowy & Blowy

It’s snowy, blowy, and cold.

I know.  It’s April.  In Saskatchewan.  Of COURSE it’s snowy, blowy, and cold….

BUT IT WAS REALLY NICE!

I thought spring was actually here.  I shared pictures of us outside in the lovely warm glow of the sun.  Shared a picture of the new life peeking through the old rot.  And now.  Now.  After all the early, lovely, life affirming spring time lovelies.  Now, it’s snowy, blowy, and cold.

I’m staying inside today.  Here’s a picture from my window:

Me and My Girl

Lily-Ann fell asleep in my arms today…  and you’d be hard pressed to find a moment I find more lovely than a moment when I can hold her close and know that she is safe.  My love for her is honestly overwhelming at times.  And I’ve made sure she knows just how deeply she is treasured, loved, and appreciated.  I tell her every day, and more than that, I show her every day.  I tell her stories about when I was pregnant, and the things I felt then.  I tell her stories about how she came to be, and how much even the nurses loved her…  that they all thought she was so special that they had to tell the other nurses, and soon enough ALL the nurses had been by the room to see this perfect special little person that I was lucky enough to have and love.  I really am blessed.  She’s amazing.  So now I’m just rambling.  LOL  That’s what happens when I get sentimental about my girl.  😉  So….  before I bore you to tears, here’s the photo for today.  Just me and my girl.

Mommy and Baby...

Me and my girl

So, this picture won’t win any awards…  in ANY categories.  LOL  But it makes me happy.  Just snapped it with my blackberry held out in my right hand as far away from us as I could reach.  Then worked with it afterwards in iPhoto.

What a lucky, lucky mommy  am I.  🙂

up close and personal

At twenty to ten and I sit down at the computer only to realize that I haven’t shot any stills today.  Took some video of the wee girlie… but haven’t done any still photography.  So what’s a girl to do?  Well, this particular girl fires up Photo Booth, turns on the comic book setting, and leans in nice and close.  🙂

Here’s the wee girlie… playing in the yard after our bike ride.  🙂

Our new rig…

YAY!  I’m a happy mommy today.  🙂  After much research and deliberation we purchased a new-to-us electric-assist bike (sometimes called an e-bike, or an electric bicycle) and a toddler-towing-bike-trailer.  We got a super good deal on the used electric-assist bike and found the trailer on sale.  So for a total of less than $450 we have a second vehicle.  Granted, it’s only going to be good for half the year… but still!  No GHG emissions, and an easy way for me and the girlie to get around during the day.  I’m excited!

Here’s Damon and Lily-Ann putting the trailer together in the front yard during sunset.  The wee girlie and I went around the block four times after it was all put together and hooked up – just to test it out.  🙂  It’s awesome!  Can’t wait to get out and about.  😀

On a totally unrelated note:  I can’t believe it’s April 5th already!  Jeepers.  Where the heck has this year gone?  Soon it will be time for my mom and me to celebrate our birthdays, then it will be the Green Party of Saskatchewan’s AGM, and not long after that we’ll be full swing into Summer.  Jeepers.  I just don’t know where the time has gone.  Wow.

Hoppy Easter! (and a lesson)

Here’s our photo of the day…  The wee girlie looking awfully cute, leaning on one of our trees, all dressed up and ready to go.

All dressed up in her easter best.

Hoppy Easter!

Now…  here’s our lesson.

What NOT to do when your mother has a photo-a-day-blog and attempts to take a picture of you:

Ahhhhhhahahaha...silly little girlmaking faces

heh heh…  😀

Beautiful Wee Girlie

Hiding

Sooo…  to avoid boredom breakdowns in the car, we often use our imaginations to play little games.  Lately, the wee girlie has been having us be a bird family.  With her the baby bird, Damon as daddy bird, and me…  yep…  as mommy bird.  So that part isn’t so imaginative.  😉  The cutest part is that she wraps herself up in a blanket and calls it her nest.  Today though, the baby bird didn’t just sit in it’s nest – it decided to become a part of the nest.  So here’s our little baby bird, or, here isn’t our little baby bird.  😀

"you can't see me!"

The Blue Blurrrrr

April Fools?  Nah…  just a Chihuahua.  😉

Took Roo out for a walk today.  Just down the block and back…  then let go of her leash and let her tear around the front yard.  It’s just what she does.  This girl loves to run.  Makes me wish they did coursing for Chihuahuas.  LOL  She definitely has a need for speed.  😀

My own personal "speed demon"... tearing up the yard, going not-quite-Greyhound fast.

They call her "the blue blurrrr". 😉
