Big Girl on the Merry-Go-Round

For the very first time ever, the wee girlie rode the merry-go-round without being held!

We love Kinsmen Park.  For four dollars you can spend a half an hour and make some really special memories.  Four dollars buys our family three rides.  Once on the merry-go-round for Lily-Ann and Mommy, once on the train for all three of us, and one last trip on the merry-go-round for Lily-Ann and Daddy.  We love it!

Today, when I lifted the wee girlie onto the animal of her choice (a rooster) I went to put my arm around her hips as usual.  She’s always needed me to put one arm around her, and my other hand on her hands holding the pole.  Well…  she said “No Mommy.  I’m a big girl now.”  So I kept my hands to myself, but still stood right beside her.  I wasn’t sure she was still going to be quite so “big” once everything actually started moving.  But she did great!  I was so proud of her.  🙂  So, when her Daddy took his turn on the ride with her, he actually got to ride on one of the horses too.  It was very cool.

The "big girl" and her Daddy. 🙂

Here’s a little video to go along with it.  😀

Can’t believe she’s getting so grown up on me already.  I thought we had a little while yet before she’d be refusing help.  LOL
