My Movember Effort!

No, I don’t have a prostate, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care about men’s health.  After all…  I have a husband, a dad, brothers, uncles, an amazing Grampa (whom I’ve blogged about on a couple of occasions), and dear friends – all whom I care deeply for.  So, I figure I can do my part this Movember as well.

Can I grow facial hair?  No.  I know a lot of women can (and wax or thread for that very reason), but I can’t.  But I can grow hair elsewhere.  Like my legs and pits.  Bet you woke up this morning hoping to read about my armpit hair…  no?  Oh.  My bad.  😉

Does leg and armpit hair count for Movember?  heck no.  Well…  unless you know a bit about being a drag king.  And I do.  heh heh.

Okay, so some of you are probably thinking “what the heck is a drag king???”.  Well…  A drag queen is a man who dresses up in celebration of all that is woman.  It’s a real art form, and takes many years to perfect.  A drag king is the spouse (at least out on the town) of a drag queen.  It’s a woman dressed as a man, mainly there to support the queen.  And it’s an art in it’s right as well.

So, I happen to know how a drag king would apply their faux-stash – utilizing hair grown elsewhere.  Typically it’s just taken from the head…  but I figure body hair would give a more realistic texture.  After all, whiskers are bristly and head hair is not.

Want to see me sporting a fierce lady-stache come the end of the month?  Then head on over to http://mosista.co/mammafly and donate.  Can’t donate?  Then spread the word.  It’s not about money, it’s about awareness.  I’m not concerned about how much is raised, but I do want to see my page with a ton of hits.  After all, if I’m going to don this stache… be all itchy and sticky because of it, then there sure as heck better be enough folk watching to make it worth the trouble.  So donate if you can.  If you can’t, then comment (that way I’ll know you were there) and pass on the link.

Come the end of the month if there are either 100 donations (regardless of the dollar amount for each donation) or 400 comments then I’ll be staching it up.  🙂
