Breakfast; the most important meal of the day

I know, just as you do, how important a good hearty breakfast is.  It really can make all the difference to your day.  I know the days when I take a little extra time to have a half waffle with berries, OJ, and a sausage link are often some of my best.

A good breakfast gives fuels your day.  It keeps you energized and helps your creative juices flow.  It helps you feel your best and helps you be your best, thusly spreading to those around you too.

However…

Is it odd that while I was typing the “…” I was saying, in my head of course, “dun, dun, dun” slowly stepping down from note to note in a ominous minor key?  😉  Nah, I didn’t think so.

…we don’t always have time to set aside for this all important meal.  So sue me.  It just doesn’t happen.  Heck yeah I love days where I can lounge about leisurely in the morning until I begin to feel sunshiny.  At which point I can saunter into the kitchen and pull out all the many implements required to make said fabulous breakfast.  Then bake, fry, and slice up my very favourite morning foods.  Afterwards savoring every succulent satisfying bite.

Great.  Now I’m craving maple syrup drenched bacon and buttermilk pancakes slathered in butter with a pulpy fresh orange juice.  Nice.

Today though, like most.  Just wasn’t one of those days.  So I hopped in the shower (thankfully Damon was home today so he fed the kid while I washed my greasy mess of hair), grabbed a banana, the girl, and my bag and jumped in the car with my Mom and sister for a trip to the Warman thrift shop.

Ta da!  My breakfast:

a banana

…and yes, I am still on the lookout for some pretty pink placemats.

Snuggling with Captain America

It was a rather long night last night, and today was just as long.  Lots of work, both personal and business related.  So I hope you’ll forgive me tonight if I’m not up to writing much.  Instead, enjoy a cute snapshot of the girl and Rogers that I took yesterday with my phone:

Lily-Ann enjoying some snuggles with Steve Rogers.

Two of my precious babies, being precious together. 😉

Mommy’s Got a New Toy!

Guess who is figuring out her way around her new iPhone?  That’s right!  It’s me.  😀

I have to admit, it was hard saying good bye to BlackBerry Messenger.  Instant messaging just doesn’t better better than that.  It really is the epitome of modern communication.  BBM, you shall be missed.

What I got in trade off though is sooo worth it!

I LOVE that all my devices are now synced up.  My computer, my iPad, my phone…  iCal can go everywhere with me now.  Having my calendar handy no matter where I am is going to be fabulous.

I also love that I will actually be able to take scrapbook page worthy photographs with my phone.  Seriously, the Pearl was terrible for photos – and to think I spent a year doing project 365, and shared sooo many BB photos (they were all soooo bad).  LOL  Expect to see snapshots more often now that I can take decent ones.  Yippee!  🙂

So yeah!  I’m gonna log off of wordpress and go play with my new toy.  It’s one I’ve been excitedly waiting for for some time now.  I love flowers, and I love chocolate, but the way to THIS grrrlz heart is through gadgets!

Wii Time (and a holiday gift wish).

Today I managed to sneak in with the camera phone while the wee girlie and her daddy were playing on the Wii.  Usually as soon as they see the camera it’s all about avoiding being captured.  LMAO

I absolutely love that the two of them can play together on the Wii and have so many options.  Singing games, dancing games, kids games, sports games…  and that so many of them require them to get up and move.  Of course, with the camera phone, there was no chance in heck of me actually capturing a shot of them dancing to “hot potato”.  So I settled for them playing a sit down game.

Playing videa games. ;)

Wii Love to Play!

Now, this photo leads me to my holiday gift wish.  Notice all the blur caused by the laughter?  They laugh, they move, and the moment is gone.  I love my big camera.  As a photographer, I NEED my big camera.  But sometimes (like going on school trips, taking the girlie swimming, or for snapshots like this one) I’d really like one of those pocket sized, point and shoot cameras.  As long as it has a quick shutter speed, and image stabilization I’d be happy…  but add on a bit of water or weather proofing and I’d be THRILLED.  LOL  So, any holiday elves out there?  That’s my holiday gift wish.  😉
