Today I launched my new website for my Chihuahuas. More than anything, it’s a place for me to brag on my dogs; their accomplishments and titles. Eventually I’ll also have a page there in regards to my handling too, but for now? For now it’s all about our Chihuahuas.
So take a peek, and let me know what you think. I’d love to know who’s your favourite Sidhe Dog. 😉
Can you believe it??? The puppies are already eight weeks old. Kinda blows my mind a little. I have to admit, I’m already looking forward to their show careers. I love seeing their different traits (both personality and physical), and imagining how they’ll end up. Both are promising.
Here are a few photos from some of our stacking practice and post-stacking play session:
Deedee isn’t a fan of the table. She’ll stand on it, but doesn’t want to be stacked. Same on the floor… she has no trouble walking into a stack, but doesn’t want you to mess with her beyond just delivering a treat. She’s definitely got the most confidence and attitude – and even when she isn’t happy about something her tail just keeps going.
Alice does really well allowing you to hand stack her. She’ll stay wherever you put her (even if you totally overextend her, just to see if she’ll hold it). LOL She will stand on the table without issue, she doesn’t like it, but she behaves really nicely. She gets her confidence from her sister on the floor though. The difference in her self stacks when she’s alone and when Deedee is with her, is crazy-huge.
Both girls are super cute (though I may be a little biased). And while they are quite different they are both nice. I really am looking forward to watching them growing up. It’s been such a privilege so far. 🙂
As I’d mentioned a while ago now, we had hopes of heading out for a puppy (and people) playdate with my friend Yolanda. Unfortunately we got rained out and had to postpone. Fortunately, the weather was perfect today. 🙂 And, as promised, I tried to be less of a hovering mother hen, and more of a stand-back-and-take-photos kinda gal. So without further ado, our family playdate:
Thank you so much for having us all over Yolanda. It really was a fabulous afternoon, and a much needed break from all the overtime hours I’ve been putting in lately. 🙂 Very much looking forward to doing it again soon.
Today, I am mentally and physically exhausted. A perfect day to share puppy pictures – because otherwise you’d be stuck reading me grouse about it. 😉 And well, as I’m bound and determined to choose joy, this is a good chance for me to do so. While I’m feeling completely thrashed, there’s still so much to be thankful for, so much to take joy in.
With that in mind, here are a few puppy pictures!
The pictures are from the eighth, so are a few days old. But I didn’t think you’d mind too much. Will try to snap some new ones soon. 🙂 Maybe during a trip outside.
Okay, yes, it’s my second blog post for tonight… but for all those begging for updated pictures of Roo’s girls, I couldn’t disappoint. LOL So here are some new pictures of our Chihuahua puppies, Alice and Deedee.
Thanks to Damon for snapping these pictures as I held the babies. 🙂
Today, being completely exhausted, I’m going to just share a bunch of photos. As always, captured by my lovely younger sister, Jewles. 🙂 We’re another point closer to Marnie’s Championship – which is always a nice thing to be able to say after a busy dog show day.
Yesterday evening my little sister, Jewles, and I arrived in Regina Saskatchewan. I have to give a plug to the Ramada. We had only booked a single room – but they upgraded us to a double, free of charge. Large, clean room, with a fabulous desk space, a table, and a double size night stand… all in addition to a fridge and microwave. And we are totally looking forward to heading to the pool a little later – it’s gorgeous!
Anyway, today Marnie (Em’s and my Chihuahua puppy) won her third point towards her Championship. So YAY! 🙂 But even better than winning another point? Marnie, for the first time, actually relaxed and had fun in the ring. It was great! She totally got silly and actually played with Chevy (our friend’s Chihuahua). So yeah. A good dog show day.
Thanks to Jewles for snagging these photos for me. 🙂 Always nice to have in ring candids.
Now, off to snack, then it’s time to hit the pool before getting ready for tomorrow at the show.
The biggest problem with living in a small house is the lack of space. Too obvious for you? Well, deal with it. 😉
I love my small house. 620 square feet of living space for three people and nine animals… It’s not always easy, but we make it work.
Space is definitely at a premium, but I had to find a bit more of it for the Chihuahuas. The feud between Roo and Marnie is not set to resolve itself any time soon, and I hated that Marnie often ended up resigning to sleeping on the floor when Roo refused to share the big bed with anyone but Ned.
So today we wiggled stuff, jiggled stuff, squeezed stuff… and we did it. We found two square feet more for the Chihuahua’s exercise pen (x-pen). What is the big deal about two square feet that it was worth all the effort? Well, two square feet is exactly enough space to include a second bed. 🙂 Now, whether or not Roo is willing to share sleeping space with Marnie, no-one has to end up on the floor.
Here are a few photographs of the newly remodeled Chihuahua sleep space:
So the x-pen now encompasses ten square feet of space. Enough for two beds, two water bowls, and an emergency potty (for those times when we are out, or they just can’t wait until morning). So far, they all seem a lot happier with this arrangement. I know I am.
