Can you believe I’m still sick?

Seriously.  It’s been well over a week now.  I think it’s high time I started feeling better.  Jeepers.  😉  Of course, all of the excitement the last couple of days probably didn’t actually help me any.  While very cool, it was a far cry from the rest a person fighting off a virus should be getting.  LOL

So while I’m still stuck being sick, I can feel that I’m getting closer to the end of things.  My symptoms have changed.  They aren’t getting better, but they are different – so I know I’m moving through this bug, even if it’s slower than I’d like.  All the echinacea in the world isn’t speeding this one along any.

The biggest problem for me is honestly the exhaustion.  I can deal with the sore throat, the coughing, the runny nose…  the exhaustion is definitely the kicker.  I am just so beat.  Constantly.  And being constantly exhausted leads to bad blogging.  LMAO

Missing posts.

Boring posts.

Rambling non-sense-making posts.

Posts about how tired I am of being tired.

Posts about how sick I am of being sick.

Nothing anyone wants to read.

And for that?  You have my sympathy and apologies.  😉  I hope you can forgive muddled, fuddy, blurgering, sickly me.

Still sick…

In spite of my excitement over the huge numbers generated by my groupon, I’m still sick.  So the long hours I’ve been putting in answering questions, responding to emails, and streamlining the booking process have taken their toll.  I’m absolutely burnt right out.  Happy, but needing to sleep and get this bug out of my system.

For those of you who have purchased a groupon,  THANK YOU!  Your support is truly overwhelming.  No one expected these kinds of numbers.  Even Patrick (the groupon guy) estimated about 70 total sales…  so the fact that we are now sitting at 185 is absolutely incredible!  Thank you, truly.

Now onto business.  😉

The shear volume of emails, FB messages, and phone messages I am sorting through is overwhelming.  I am doing my best to get through everything, and your patience is so appreciated.

The best thing you can do to help ensure that I get to you in a timely fashion is this:

Send me an email with “Groupon Booking” in the subject line.  Within your message include a little information about your family, and the type of session you are hoping for.  The more I know about you and what you hope to accomplish the better.  Also include three  or four dates/times, in order of preference, for your booking.   My email address is photographer at tobi-dawne.com (replace “at” with “@”)

Having all this in ONE message will make the whole process much quicker, and it will help me during the next couple of days as I actually start booking everyone in.  Once your sitting is booked, I will send you an email with your date and time…  and I will also answer any questions you may have mentioned in your message.

Thanks everyone.  I really do appreciate your patience and your support.  Truly, this has been an amazing couple of days – in spite of being sick.  😉  I am very much looking forward to getting to know all of you, and helping to create some incredible memories.

I haz sikness… :(

Okay, that’s about as close to a lol cats comment title as I’ll ever come.  But it sums up how I’m feeling pretty well.  Being sick is bad enough, but being sick and worried because you’re sick is even worse.

Our household has been sick for about a week now.  It started with the wee girlie (who, thankfully, besides a runny nose and a cough, hasn’t been much affected), moved onto me (and I always seem to be hit hard by any bugs that come through), and now has Damon down too (and thankfully his immune system is tough like the girls).

I’ve had a few days now where I’ve just gone from bad to worse…  and it’s the reason I’ve been so intermittent with my blog posts.  At this point, I can barely talk, and it’s tough to breathe without doubling over from hacking so hard.  I’m living on cough drops, echinacea, and vitamin C, and hoping for the best.

The reason for my worry is that come February 15th, I have a job interview.  Most jobs in the fields I enjoy simply aren’t ones I’m interested in.  If I am going to enter someones employ, it will be on a limited part time or casual basis.  I love working for myself, but it’s come down to finances.  We need me to be bringing in more than I am right now…  and while I have every faith that my photography business will take off – we don’t have the money needed for advertising.  So when I saw this job listing, my heart just sang.

This job is everything I could have hoped for.  It’s working in a sector I love, with youth (which I love).  Most of it could be done from home.  It’s part time AND casual.  It’s right up my alley.  So being sick, when I have the interview in less than two days…  well…  I’m now sick AND stressed.

I would totally rock this job!  They aren’t going to find someone who could do it better than I could.  It’s perfect for me.  Seriously, the camp coordinator for Camp fYrefly?  It’s like the position was created just for me.  LOL  So I HAVE to get better.  No other option.  Which means, as I already mentioned, I’m living on echinacea, vitamin C, and cough drops (which are also packed with echinacea).

Gotta chase this bug right outta my system, and gotta do it in no time flat.

Any other tips or tricks to chasing a virus away?  I’m up for almost anything at this point.  LOL

cough… cough

I’ve had a lingering cough for weeks now.  Just can’t seem to shake it.  And as of tonight?  It’s gotten worse.  I had my cold, not fair that I may end up with another.  I guess that’s what I get for having the wee girlie in school…  all the germs that go with it.  LOL  Oh boy.

cough…  cough…

Totally not cool.

No pictures…  took some…  but don’t feel like uploading just now.

cough…

Got some cute ones of the girlie.

cough…  cough.

cough.

Time to load up on the echinacea again.

Wasn’t coughing all day like this, thankfully.  This just started at about 8 pm.  So was able to make a nice supper (roasted a chicken – with stuffing, carrots, potatoes, and corn).  Will make soup for lunch tomorrow, for which the timing couldn’t be more perfect.  LOL

cough…

night all

cough… cough.

Fight the Flu

People have this notion that it’s cold and flu season during the Winter, because when we go out into the cold we put ourselves at risk.  Not so.  Germs don’t like the cold – that’s why a cold mist humidifier is WAY healthier than a warm mist one.  Winter is cold season, because WE are like the viruses that plague us.

We don’t like the cold.  We huddle together inside.  We are in close confines, bunched together, all Winter long.  Germs love this.  It’s warm inside.  We like it warm, and so do the viruses.

I have a bad cold, and it’s knocked me for a loop.  But I have to admit, I’m glad I’m sick now – because I’d rather be sick now than during Yule and Christmas.  This is why I  didn’t post yesterday.  I crashed pretty early.  LOL

So here’s my survival tip (and yes, I’m taking my own advice).  Knock out the virus by loading up on Echinacea and Vitamin C, stay hydrated, and get plenty of rest.
