Starting this month I’ll be hosting a challenge at the Plum… Okay, yes, I know. I host challenges there every month as part of my duties as a member of their Creative Team. But this challenge is something new and different. For the next year, I’ll be hosting a monthly challenge that is all about journaling your journey.
I’ve wanted to scrap about myself for quite some time, but honestly? I just never do it. I really would like to create something that is about who I am, and what’s important to me… something I can eventually give Lily-Ann. Sure, she’ll have all my writing (yes, there’s a lot of it) but I want something that is uniquely personal. And I know, in spite of the fact that this is something I really want to do, I know I’m likely to just keep putting it off.
Hosting this challenge is going to be the perfect way to ensure I actually take up the challenge myself. So each month I’ll come up with a topic, and maybe a word art, template, photo mat, or some other goody to go along with it… and we’ll all create something special. Come the end of the year, each of us will have twelve layouts all about who we are and whats important to us. It should be pretty cool.
So hop on over to the Plum and join me in the challenge forum here: http://www.polkadotplum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=219 Should be an interesting ride!
I’m at the beginning of what is likely to be an insanely busy six months. And, well… something has got to give. Between being a mom, the coordinator for Camp fYrefly, all of my groupon sessions, photographing weddings, doing dog shows, and scrapbooking? Well… it’s too many HAVE TO’s pulling me in different directions. I’m thinking I may give up my spot on the Creative Team for Polka Dot Plum. Hopefully they’ll welcome me back come September, when life slows back to the crawl that it normally is.
Oh! I’ll still scrapbook when time allows… but I need it to be a WANT TO vs. a HAVE TO. I need it to be something I can do, but not stress about having to do it. I’m going to need it as a release, something I can do just for me. So it needs to be a want to. Which means it needs to NOT be an obligation.
Got a Christmas freebie for you all today. 🙂
Now, not only do I host the definition challenge at Enchanted Studio Scraps, I’m now hosting challenges at Polka Dot Plum. This week is their first ever Word Art challenge – hosted by moi! So click on the image to download the free image, and then play along at: http://www.polkadotplum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4757
Also, I’ve happily accepted the role as the lead CT for Sugar Pie Scraps. That means I’m the Head Chef of the Sugar Pie Chefs… which is something I’m quite excited about. Think you might like to become a member of our awesome little group? Check this out:
Before jumping into all the scraptastic fun… What do you think?
Do you like the new look? Any thoughts as to what YOU’d like to see in the title image? I realize this blog was created to allow my participating in Project 365, but it will continue into the new year. Sharing my thoughts, rants, photos, and stories has become a regular part of my life, and it’s not something I’m going to give up just because the year has come to an end. So I really could use some thoughts on what you’d like to see.
Okay… Scraptastic Saturday. 🙂
I’ve been scrapping like crazy the last couple of weeks. And this week I got to work with a bunch of new designers… which is always a treat. I’ve found several new favourites and I highly encourage you check them all out at Polka Dot Plum. Lots of gorgeous kits, templates, and other goodies to be found. And this weekend there are a ton of 50% off sales there too. So it’s the perfect time to stock up.
There is still time left to jump over to Enchanted Studio Scraps to take part in my definition challenge for November. The word art I’ve created centers around the word SPECIAL, and it’s perfect for scrapbooking all those wonderful holiday memories from last year. The download link can be found at ESS in the challenge thread (just look for November’s Definition Challenge). Hope you’ll play along.
Since Kat (of Kat’s Creations) dissolved her creative team, I’d been on the lookout for a new spot…. and I’ve found it. When Crystal (of Sugar Pie Scraps) opened her new store at PDP I met a bunch of new scraptastic ladies who are as quirky and as fun as I like to think I am. LOL It was a natural fit, and I was thrilled when they accepted me as a member of their creative team. So now, not only am I a Sugar Pie Chef, but I’m a Sugar Plum too.
I’ve been scrapping layouts featuring my siblings with Lily-Ann. And I’m proud to say I’ll start to work on the last one on Monday. They’ve got super smoothly, and I’m really happy with how they’ve all turned out. I guess the key is to figure out which one to share here today. LOL Hmmm….
Okay, you know what? I’m not going to share any of them. LMAO
Here’s Lily-Ann with her cousin Eliana:
The kit is by Brine Designs and is called Tayla, General Girl. It’s available over at PDP… so hop on over there and check out their Black Friday sales (going on all weekend).
Take care everyone, it’s cold out there.
Be good to each other.
