Just a quick upload… I’m sure I’ll have lots of photos to share in the coming days, but whether I’ll get online to upload one a day or not is a big question. So here’s one from tonight. At the annual family and friends Christmas Eve party. Thank you Jamie for snapping this one for me. It means a lot.
Hope you all have a safe and happy weekend surrounded by your loved ones. Make merry and a happy ho ho ho to each and every one of you.
The wee girlie and I both enjoy Yoga. So it was a proud mommy moment today when I caught the wee girlie teaching one of her stuffies a few basic poses. 🙂
After demonstrating how Tree Pose is done, Lily-Ann helps move Rudolf into proper form (reindeer style), as a good Yogi should.
Next she demonstrates how to move from Downward Facing Dog into Cobra:
She finished up with Lion Pose – but asked that I put down the camera to join her for that one. LOL
Nothing like a kitchen floor, impromptu, Yoga class. 😀
Like I said… very proud mommy moment.
So you’ve all had a chance to see the wee girlie looking cute, looking precious, looking darling, looking adorable, looking sweet, looking picture perfect… well… here’s proof that she can look downright goofy too. LOL
It’s the only way she’d let me take her picture today. LMAO So I just went with it. I’m sure there will come a time when photos like this will make excellent blackmail material, but for now? They’re just plain fun. 😉
On another note, the wee girlie took home her first report card today. Of course, it’s just pre-k, so it’s nothing that warrants any worry. And not a thing on it that surprised either her Daddy or myself. It was just kind of neat… a bit of a milestone, one of those “firsts” that you recall with fondness once they are passed. Here’s how it read:
Now keep in mind, it’s not a standard report card… it’s a little kid version. LOL
– a good friend to my classmates
– very friendly and outgoing
– good at puzzles
– follow directions and complete a simple worksheet with little help
– actively participate in circle time
– share and take turns with reminders
I need to practice…
– using an inside voice, especially at circle time
– helping at clean-up time and putting toys away when finished
So, yeah… No surprises there. LOL
Wish us luck tomorrow. We’re taking Marnie (our Chihuahua puppy) to the wee girlie’s class. She’s a good puppy, excellent with people, so I have high hopes. But like anything, a bad socialization outing can set you back in your training goals. So positive vibes are appreciated. 😉
Be good to each other.
Lily-Ann is growing up before my eyes. These three years have passed by in a flash. Today she sewed her first quilt (no backing on it, but that’s another lesson for another time). She cut it, pieced it together, fed it into the sewing machine, and controlled the foot peddle. That blows my mind a little bit.
As anyone who knows Lily well can attest to, she can be a handful. Smart, strong willed, and determined to do things her own way… (wonder where she gets THAT from). 😉 But she also has shining moments that leave me feeling so very proud. She really is amazing, and I’m so very lucky.
We were leaving co-op the other day, and a gentleman held the door open for the wee girlie and I. She looked up at him and said “Thank you sir”. His jaw dropped, and I smiled as I thanked him too. I then squeezed Lily-Ann’s hand and said “Thank you for your manners. It makes me so happy when you are so nice.”
And yes. I know. I owe a photograph from yesterday. They are all still on my camera. Need to clear some space on the computer. LMAO But promise to have it for you soon.
And yes. I know. I also owe you a Scraptastic Saturday post. Its coming too. I promise.
As a writer myself, I loved this!
Her and I were sitting in my Dad’s van (borrowed it for an errand today, needed the interior space). I looked back, and she was digging out her notebook to document everything going on around us. 🙂 Girl always travels with her notebook, pen, and crayons in her little bag… ready to record at a moments notice.
And yes! My wee girlie has now upgraded to a booster seat rather than an infant car seat. Can’t believe how big she’s getting!
