So… I know it’s rather last minute. But I’m thinking about taking part in the A2Z blog challenge. I already post on a almost-daily basis, so I’ve got that part down. And I think it could be fun coming up with a title/subject matter based on a different letter every day. What do you think? I have until tomorrow to decide.
My brain is swimming tonight, and I’ll admit, that makes it hard to decide what to write about. I’ve just got so much on the go right now that it’s difficult to focus on one thing. I spent the day on the phone with several different people. I also spent a little while at the girl’s school – putting feathers in the hair of her teachers. I worked on one of the scrapbooking kits I’ll be selling when my design studio launches at Polka Dot Plum. And I thought my way through a couple things I’ll be needing to make decisions on soon.
When I look around the house, it doesn’t really look like I did much today. And that’s the one curse of the work-at-home mom. My day was incredibly full and busy, and I spent it almost all at home… but looking around me? You’d think I’d been eating bon bons watching stories on the tele. 😉 You know what though? I’m okay with it.
I had a full day. I have a full life. And one day, when things are not so busy, when I’m not focused on being a mom, a professional, and an activist all at once? Then maybe my house will look like a sanctuary of cleanliness… probably not then either though. ‘Cause I’m sure I’ll be busy just having fun with my man.
My challenge for March has been posted, and I thought I’d take a minute to write a bit of a blog post about it too. For those of you who aren’t aware, my challenge this year is a journal challenge. I’ve wanted to create a scrapbook about me for some time now. But generally when I sit down to work on a layout I let my photographs speak for themselves, and it’s almost always about the kid. So it really is a challenge for me to sit down and write a little something about ME. It’s important though, and so I’m writing about me FOR Lily-Ann.
Each month I’ll provide a journal prompt, so if you’d like to take the challenge along with me, you’ll have a book of your own finished after the year is over. This month I scrapped a page about how the girl and I share a love of My Little Ponies.
Feel like checking out the challenge? They’re all listed at: https://td365.wordpress.com/the-challenge-2012/ And each and every month during 2012 there will be another prompt added to the list.
Yay leap day!
Okay. I’m done.
Seriously, that was the extent of my inspiration for my blog post tonight.
Generally speaking I really enjoy blogging daily, but some days kinda suck you dry… so when it gets to be evening, and I’ve put the kid to bed, and the screen of my laptop burns brightly in the dark? Well. On those days there’s just not much left.
It’s no secret that with January comes my annual case of the blahs. The holiday festivities are over, there is little going on, it’s the coldest month of the year, and my thoughts are of Spring and the fun of the dog shows that come with it (yet it’s still too far away to really begin any of the planning or fun). There are good things in January… like my Dad and my brother’s birthdays – both which happen to fall on the 11th. But over all? I’m happy it’s drawing to an end. I am SOOO ready for February!
