Scraptastic Saturday – Blog Train!

Hey everyone!  I’m going to be real quick here.  Poor wee girlie has the chicken pox…  or, as she calls them, “chicken spots”.  So I’m awfully tired.  Didn’t know it was possible to get them in all the places they’ve managed to show up.  I have to admit, I’m awfully glad the girl is asleep now.  She needed to get some rest.

Anyway…

Crystal, of Sugar Pie Scraps (selling exclusively at Polka Dot Plum), is celebrating her Designiversary this weekend.  She’s been working as a designer for a year now!  Hard to believe she has so many amazing kits when she’s only been doing this for a year.  Her stuff is absolutely awesome.

To celebrate, the Sugar Pie Chefs are hosting a blog train.  Hop on board at the first stop and work your way through all the links to pick up some awesome free goodies.

Scraptastic Saturdays – Choose a Swatch!

In honor of Sugar Pie Scraps Designaversary (coming up mid-month), Crystal is hosting a “choose the colours” contest on her blog.  All you have to do is hop on over there, and pick the swatch you like best.  To thank you for voting, she’ll give you a discount coupon for the kit she’ll create using the winning colour palate.  And even better?  One lucky person will receive the kit for free.  She’s got some lovely swatches posted, so it’s not an easy choice…  but hey!  Everyone loves a chance at free stuff.  😀  So get on over there!

Scraptastic Saturdays – OH DEAR!

Well, it’s official.  I’m addicted to designing.  Today I’ve got another freebie for you.  A mini-kit I call “Oh Dear”.

My first kit mainly contained commercial use (CU) items from other designers that I’d coloured or retooled…  just to kinda test the waters.  But with Oh Dear, I built several elements from scratch.  Now that the design bug has bit, I’ll likely be looking for a shop soon, where I can bring you kits on a regular basis.  So stay tuned for that.  🙂  But until then, here’s “Oh Dear”.  Just click to download.  And enjoy!

If you are up for a challenge, check out the Plum.  I’ve got a mini-kit challenge posted there, featuring Oh Dear.  You only have until Tuesday at midnight to play though, so you better hurry.  The challenge is posted here:  http://www.polkadotplum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4915

Enjoy a freebie or two?  Then you’ll want to check out Sugar Pie Scrap’s blog come the ninth.  There’ll be an four seasons blog train rolling through that day in honour of Enchanted Studio Scraps birthday.  Crystals kit is really lovely, so you won’t want to miss it.  Just head on over to http://sugarpiescrapping.blogspot.com/ to check it out and download it.  She’s also released a new kit this week called A Fresh Start that is really something.  The embossed papers in it are absolutely fabulous.

That’s it today.  Take care everyone, and HAPPY SCRAPPIN’!

Scraptastic Saturday – a new kit, a new LO, and a new freebie

Lots of scraptastic stuff today.  🙂

First off, Sugar Pie Scraps has got an amazing new kit out at Polka Dot Plum.  It’s called Snow, Sledding & Sweets.  I absolutely love it.  When I first saw it, I knew I liked it…  but it wasn’t until I actually started working with it that I fell in love with it.  This kit really is a dream to work with.  It’s got a ton of flexibility, and works with both the sillier layouts and the more serious ones.  It really is fabulous.  And even better?  You have a chance to WIN it.  Hop on over to http://www.digishoptalk.com/boards/happy-place-31/win-snow-sledding-sweets-263926/ to enter the free draw.

Now, here’s the new LO (layout).  And you guessed it…  I used the kit above.  LOL

Oh right…  I also promised a freebie, didn’t I.  I didn’t forget.

The image is linked, so just click on it to download.  🙂

yuletide spirit wordartAnd if you feel like playing along, why not stop by the plum and share what you’ve created using my word art.  🙂  The url for the challenge is http://www.polkadotplum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4773 All I ask, is that when giving credit please list it as “a scraptastic design by TD”.  🙂

That’s it from me today.  I’m off to a party with some really great folks we know through my husbands work.  Take care, and be safe.

Scraptastic Saturday – Christmas Freebie

Hey everyone!

Got a Christmas freebie for you all today.  🙂

Now, not only do I host the definition challenge at Enchanted Studio Scraps, I’m now hosting challenges at Polka Dot Plum.  This week is their first ever Word Art challenge – hosted by moi!  So click on the image to download the free image, and then play along at: http://www.polkadotplum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4757

Also, I’ve happily accepted the role as the lead CT for Sugar Pie Scraps.  That means I’m the Head Chef of the Sugar Pie Chefs…  which is something I’m quite excited about.  Think you might like to become a member of our awesome little group?  Check this out:

Scraptastic Saturday – What do you think?

Before jumping into all the scraptastic fun…  What do you think?

Do you like the new look?  Any thoughts as to what YOU’d like to see in the title image?  I realize this blog was created to allow my participating in Project 365, but it will continue into the new year.  Sharing my thoughts, rants, photos, and stories has become a regular part of my life, and it’s not something I’m going to give up just because the year has come to an end.  So I really could use some thoughts on what you’d like to see.

Okay…  Scraptastic Saturday.  🙂

I’ve been scrapping like crazy the last couple of weeks.  And this week I got to work with a bunch of new designers…  which is always a treat.  I’ve found several new favourites and I highly encourage you check them all out at Polka Dot Plum.  Lots of gorgeous kits, templates, and other goodies to be found.  And this weekend there are a ton of 50% off sales there too.  So it’s the perfect time to stock up.

There is still time left to jump over to Enchanted Studio Scraps to take part in my definition challenge for November.  The word art I’ve created centers around the word SPECIAL, and it’s perfect for scrapbooking all those wonderful holiday memories from last year.  The download link can be found at ESS in the challenge thread (just look for November’s Definition Challenge).  Hope you’ll play along.

Since Kat (of Kat’s Creations) dissolved her creative team, I’d been on the lookout for a new spot…. and I’ve found it.  When Crystal (of Sugar Pie Scraps) opened her new store at PDP I met a bunch of new scraptastic ladies who are as quirky and as fun as I like to think I am.  LOL  It was a natural fit, and I was thrilled when they accepted me as a member of their creative team.  So now, not only am I a Sugar Pie Chef, but I’m a Sugar Plum too.

I’ve been scrapping layouts featuring my siblings with Lily-Ann.  And I’m proud to say I’ll start to work on the last one on Monday.  They’ve got super smoothly, and I’m really happy with how they’ve all turned out.  I guess the key is to figure out which one to share here today.  LOL  Hmmm….

Okay, you know what?  I’m not going to share any of them.  LMAO

Here’s Lily-Ann with her cousin Eliana:

Lily-Ann and Eliana

Lily-Ann Marie and Eliana Marina

The kit is by Brine Designs and is called Tayla, General Girl.  It’s available over at PDP…  so hop on over there and check out their Black Friday sales (going on all weekend).

Take care everyone, it’s cold out there.

Be good to each other.

Scraptastic Saturday – Awesome Deals

Just thought I’d share a few really awesome deals I stumbled across this week.  🙂

If you’ve ever thought of trying your hand at Digiscrapping, now is definitely the time.  Totally Twisted Scraps is holding a HUGE sale in honor of the designers birthday.  This was one deal I couldn’t pass up, I’m downloading all the files as I’m writing up this post.  LOL  And no, I’m not getting anything in exchange for sharing, nor was I asked to share.  I just absolutely love all the kits that TTS has created and wanted to make sure that no-one missed out on this amazing deal.  And when I say it’s an amazing deal, I really mean it’s an amazing deal.  Her entire catalogue is worth over $190, but you can by EVERYTHING, every single kit, for one price…  $10.  So yeah.  I’d say it’s a good time to try out a new hobby.  😉

Click on the image below to head to her store.

Totally Twisted Scraps "By My Store" Sale

Today is the first day in over a week that I’ve actually had time that I could be devoting to doing up a scrapbook layout…  but I’m just not feeling it.  LOL  So I’ll just share some more great scraptastic stuff I found.  😉

Sugar Pie Scraps has a contest going on over at Enchanted Studio Scraps.  Just browse her store there, and add your favourite kit to your wishlist.  She’ll randomly choose someone to get their favourite kit for free…  and there is no better deal than free.  LOL

The SPS store is located here:  http://enchantedstudioscraps.com/xcart/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=90

The last deal I’d like to share is for a mega kit that’s also available at ESS.  Four different designers collaborated on this kit, and all proceeds are being donated to the Susan B. Korman Foundation.  It is onsale for only $7.00, which is 53% off.  The kit is really lovely, and while the theme is Breast Cancer Awareness, it’s a very versatile kit.  One you won’t regret adding to your scrapping library.

You’ll find the kit here:  http://www.enchantedstudioscraps.com/xcart/product.php?productid=3301&cat=320&page=1

So that’s it for this Scraptastic Saturday.

Be good to one another, and have a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

Scraptastic Saturday – I’m BACK!

Sorry everyone.  I’ve been an absentee blogger lately.  I have been taking a daily photograph, but life simply got in the way of my posting them.  I’ve been absolutely run off my feet the last while, but I am hoping everything is going to settle back down into our regular routine now.  Of course, those could end up becoming famous last words – though I hope not.  LOL

So, it’s Scraptastic Saturday.  That being the case, I’ve got a couple things to share.  🙂

As you likely read earlier in the week, “Little” was born!  YAY!  Well, “Little” now has a name:  Finn.  And it suits him perfectly.  So here’s a layout I did a little earlier in the week, when Finn was only a couple days old, featuring photos from when he was only minutes old.

Welcome Finn!

For this layout I used a kit by Sugar Pie Scraps called “My Boy”.  It is available at the Digital Scrap Cafe, here’s a direct link to the kit:  http://digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe/product.php?productid=18459&cat=0&page=1

In other scraptastic news, I am now running the Definition Challenge over at Enchanted Studio Scraps.  The whole month of October, everything has been done to reflect a spooky Halloween theme – which I just love.  🙂  This is SOOO my favourite time of year.  With that in mind, I decided to use the word “creepy” for this months challenge.  Hope you’ll decide to play along.

Creepy Definition

You can find the challenge rules, and download the wordart at:  http://enchantedstudioscraps.com/forums/showthread.php?p=113448

Well, that’s it for today.  Welcome to October everyone.  Hope it’s a spooktacular month for you.  😀  Full of the richness of the season, the warmth of the heart, and the fun of both Thanksgiving and Halloween.  Be good to one another!

Scraptastic Saturday – Yay Literacy

Welcome to the very first Scraptastic Saturday.  So, yeah…  making Saturdays all about scrapbooking kinda takes away from the idea of this as a Project 365 blog.  LOL  But I need a change of pace.  So I figure a once a week break from the norm might not be a bad thing.  🙂

Sugar Pie Scraps has provided gift certificates for the winners of our very first Scraptastic Challenge.  So a big thank you to Crystal for her generosity.  It’s very much appreciated.  Winners will receive gift certificates for her shop at ESS @ http://www.enchantedstudioscraps.com/xcart/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=90.  And please feel welcome to stop by and visit her blog @ http://sugarpiescrapping.blogspot.com/.

If you’re a designer and are interested in sponsoring a future challenge let me know, we’d be happy to have you.  🙂

With International Literacy Day having occurred this week (September 8th), with my being an avid supporter of the written word as both a reader AND writer, and with Sugar Pie Scraps having launched her new library themed scrapbook kit yesterday (September  10th)…  I figure it’s the perfect time for a themed challenge.  That said, your challenge is a literary themed “WordArt” challenge.

Create a layout (digital or paper) using one of the WordArt graphics I have made available at the links below.  Or, if you would prefer not to use the word art,  include either quote in your layout as part of your journaling.  But preference will be given to layouts featuring the actual WordArt.

Quote One:

“A truly great library contains something in it to offend everyone.”

Download WordArt here – http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=6v5bim2drdw0fef&thumb=4

Quote Two:

“A book is like a garden carried in the pocket.”

Dowload WordArt here – http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=e56qbb8cj71f2dh&thumb=4

You have until midnight cst on Saturday (one week from today) to submit your layouts.  Feel free to upload anywhere:  FB, ESS, photobucket, DST, brownie scraps.  Include a link to this post in your layout description, and credit the WordArt as “a Scraptastic design by Tobi-Dawne”.  Then post a link to your layout in the comments section below.   Winners will be chosen and posted here no later than the Tuesday following (but I will do my best to post them sooner).

Good luck, and happy scrappin’!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
